Exciting News About Miss Cannon County 2021 – Press Release

Holly Sylvester and her team from Pageant Positive will be hosting the 2021 Miss Cannon County Pageant at the Cannon County Fair Grounds May 28-30th. Working closely with the Fair Board, they are making sure this is not only safe but an enjoyable and positive event. Miss Cannon County will be following all health and safety recommendations from the County and Fair Boards, and encourages everyone to come and enjoy seeing the beautiful smiling faces on all the contestants.

A finalized pageant schedule can be found on the Miss Cannon County website at www.misscannoncounty.com. This year, due to an amazing response in all divisions, Miss Cannon County will be separated into 4 pageants over 3 days.

Friday May 28th at 6 PM will be the young ladies’ pageant for girls age 4-12 in the Little Miss, Young Miss and Pre-Teen age divisions.

Saturday May 29th at Noon will be the Babies pageant for ages 0-3 including baby girls, and baby boys this year.

Saturday the evening of the 29th at 7 PM will be a pageant for all girls age 13 and up, including a new single women’s, a married women’s and a plus size women’s division.

Sunday the 30th at 3 PM will be the brand new Miss Middle Tennessee Star Pageant – a pageant specially designed for girls and ladies with special needs and disabilities.

Miss Cannon County has partnered with Open Doors Tennessee and Miss Shining Star Pageants to bring this opportunity to Cannon County. “It made me cry to see these girls find their beauty and confidence when they were on stage” Holly said in referring to the Shining Star pageant she experienced earlier this year in east TN, “that’s when I knew I had to make this happen at Miss Cannon Count.” The Fair Board has worked to make the main stage accessible for these girls and will be holding the pageant on the sensory friendly day at the fair.

All contestants will parade in evening wear which will be judged for their poise, confidence and ability to show true and natural beauty from inside to out. Girls age 4 and up will compete in a casual wear competition sporting their Miss Cannon County 2021 t-shirt sponsored by Service Insurance Agency and Beck’s Boutique.

All contestants also have an opportunity to compete in a number of optional competitions including on stage speaking, a written essay, volunteer service, photogenic and top model competitions. One girl in every pageant will be Crowned People’s Choice where the community will vote $1 per vote either in person at the pageant, or early voting online. Early voting can be found on their website at www.misscannoncounty.com. The winner of the People’s Choice for the 13 and up pageant will also receive a 4-day cruise and airfare for two complements of Nashville Tourism and Travel.

An area of competition that all contestants are required to participate in is community involvement where items are being collected for the Woodbury Nursing Home and Rehab Facility. Bringing donated items will equate to 10% of their overall score, and the contestant who brings the most donated items will be crowned the Miss Cannon County Community Service Queen. “this is how we help girls understand our motto” Holly said, “It’s More than Just… a crown, a dress, a pretty face. It’s about being a better person and helping those around you.”

Miss Cannon County will be a high energy pageant where the girls will get to strut their stuff on stage, look beautiful, have fun, and make some amazing memories with their fellow contestants and friends, hopefully walking away a better person when it’s all over.
